is this at all mcdonald's nationwide or is this just a new england thing? the reason i ask is that the only time i see commercials about the double cheese leaving is on the NY stations. I haven't seen ads about this on my local channels.

i think its nationwide because ive caught hockey broadcasts from the west coast and seen it advertised out there as well

Don't they usually replace an item with another that they take off the $1 menu? Seems like the double cheeseburger replaced the Big and Tasty a few years back.
